CAUCUS JANUARY 17, 2009
Town of Long Lake
The Town caucus to appoint candidates for the April 7, 2009 election was called to order by Town chairman LeRoy Sandridge at 9:00 am on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Town Hall. The Pledge of Allegiance was said. Total residents present registered 38. After the Clerk read the Public Notice, the chairman declared he was a candidate for re-election and stepped down. A motion was made by Gary Kampf and seconded by Ruth Ann Dinga to have Allen Barta chair the caucus. Motion passed. Nominations were opened. Gene Romsos and Ruth Ann Dinga were selected to be tellers to canvass the votes.
Town Chairman: Gary Kampf nominated Wayne Sabatke. Marvin Kuehn seconded the nomination. Sandy Riege nominated LeRoy Sandridge. Bill Austin seconded the nomination. No further nominations were declared.
Supervisor I: Doug Johnson nominated Bert Richter. Dolores Magnus seconded the nomination. Jim Barron nominated Brett Westphal. Jim Kleven seconded it. David Haessig nominated Wes Mohns. Ed Olund seconded it. No further nominations were declared. Since there were three candidates, a ballot vote was taken. Bert Richter received 5 votes, Brett Westphal received 14 votes, Wes Mohns received 19 votes. The two candidates that will be on the ballot in April are Brett Westphal & Wes Mohns.
Supervisor II: Virginia Sandridge nominated Bill Austin. Sandy Riege seconded the nomination. Lloyd Olund nominated Harvey Olund. Dottie Olund seconded the nomination. No further nominations were declared.
Clerk: Jill Keefer nominated Marcia Kampf. Marion Olund seconded the nomination. No further nominations were declared.
Treasurer: Jean Olund nominated Ruth Ann Dinga. Gene Romsos seconded the nomination. No further nominations were declared.
Nominations were closed.
All nominations were repeated by the clerk, who requested the candidates stay after the meeting to fill out paper work and do a coin toss for first place on the ballot.
LeRoy Sandridge made a motion to adjourn and Wes Mohns seconded it. Meeting was adjourned at 9:25am.
Results of coin toss: For Chairman, 1st on ballot-Wayne Sabatke, 2nd-LeRoy Sandridge
For Supervisor I,1st on ballot-Wes Mohns, 2nd-Brett Westphal
For Supervisor II, 1st on ballot-Bill Austin, 2nd-Harvey Olund
