LONG LAKE TOWNSHIP BOARD
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
November 10, 2009 Town Hall
The regular monthly Town Board meeting was called to order by Chairman LeRoy Sandridge at 6:15 pm following the Public Budget Hearing and Special Town Meeting of Electors. Board supervisors Harvey Olund and Wes Mohns, Treasurer Ruth Ann Dinga, and Clerk Marcia Kampf were present.
MONTHLY BOARD MEETING MINUTES: A motion was made by Wes and seconded by Harvey to approve the October 20 monthly Board minutes as read by the clerk. Motion passed.
FINANCIAL REPORT: The Board approved Ruth Ann’s October, 2009 financial report as presented with a motion made by Harvey and seconded by Wes. Motion passed.
ADOPTION OF 2010 BUDGET: The next order of business was to consider Board adoption of the 2010 Town Budget pursuant to Section 60.40(4) of Wisconsin Statutes. Wes made a motion to approve the 2010 budget. Wes seconded it. Motion passed.
L&L LEASE & CONTRACT: Dave Tomish presented his contract and lease agreement to the board which was signed by the Board and Dave. It was the same numbers as last year. He paid $2 to the Treasurer for the lease of both trucks.
BUILDING INSPECTOR RESUMES: Nine resumes were received in response to the ad for a building inspector for the Town of Long Lake. Jon Matson was present and spoke to the Board about his qualifications. Jim Price presented his resume and qualifications for Alder Engineering Corp. of Cumberland. Scott Schiefelbein was present and said he values his job with the Town and would like to continue. Marcia will make copies of all resumes for Board members to review and a meeting will be set to make a decision. LeRoy suggested that it be done jointly with the Planning Commission.
LAWYER BILL: A bill from the law firm of Weld, Riley, Prenn & Ricci was received by the clerk. It was for services in June which the Board had understood there would be no billing. Marcia talked to Attorney Nodolf and he said he would send a letter of explanation. None was received at this time. It was decided to put this on the agenda for next month in anticipation of an explanation from the attorney.
REFINISHING OF WOOD FLOOR IN TOWN HALL: Wes had two proposals for this project. One was for $3200 and the other was $2266. LeRoy is planning to get an appraisal on the antique safe from an antique dealer in hopes of getting it moved before the floor refinishing. It was decided to wait until Jan or Feb. to have the floor done.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
First Responders-Doreen was present and gave a report on activities done through out the year. January will start a recertification year. There are 14 First responders on the lake and they have six defibulators. A check for $1000 was given to the First Responders from the Town of Long Lake.
PUBLIC INPUT:
Hal Liesenfeldt-asked about an abandoned house trailer on hwy M.
Lloyd Olund commented that he felt the Town of Long Lake might want to pay the lawyer bill so that if the Town needed the firm in the future, it wouldn’t have a problem.
REPORTS OF TOWN OFFICERS:
LeRoy-paper work is done for trip money application for next year.
Harvey Olund-road report- there was trouble with beavers on Elver Rd.
Wes Mohns-met with DNR about boat landing grants-cost is $50 to apply-asked Marcia to look back in minutes when Schnacky Rd dock was done for the procedure used then.
Ruth Ann-inserts for tax bills-the Board reviewed the one sent last year and suggested some changes.

VOUCHERS: A motion was made by Harvey and seconded by Wes to pay vouchers 2056-2068. Motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 8:08 p.m. The next meeting will be Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 at 6:00 pm. A tape of these minutes will be kept on file at the Town Hall or at the Clerks Home.
