LONG LAKE TOWNSHIP BOARD
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
April 14, 2009 Town Hall
The regular monthly Town Board meeting was called to order at 8:45pm after the Annual Town Meeting by Chairman LeRoy Sandridge. Board supervisors Harvey Olund and newly elected Wes Mohns, Treasurer Ruth Ann Dinga, and Clerk Marcia Kampf were present.
MONTHLY BOARD MEETING MINUTES: The Board approved the minutes of the March 10, 2009 meeting as read by the clerk with a motion made by Harvey and seconded by Wes.
FINANCIAL REPORT: The Board approved Ruth Ann’s March, 2009 financial report as presented with a motion made by Wes and seconded by Harvey.
APPROVAL OF FIREWORKS PERMIT: Butch Rieschl presented the permit for approval. Harvey made a motion to approve the Fireworks Permit for the 4th of July, and Wes seconded. Motion carried.
LAKE STREET/PLAT OF HOLMES ISSUE: As there was lots of discussion at the Town Meeting the Board members discussed this issue among themselves. Harvey made a motion to deny the request to join in the application to vacate Lake Street. There was no second. Motion denied. More discussion followed. LeRoy made a motion to join in the petition to vacate Lake Street. Wes seconded it. LeRoy and Wes voted for the motion and Harvey voted against the motion. Motion carried. Attorney Thrasher gave a copy of the petition to LeRoy to sign.
DATES FOR OPEN BOOK AND BOARD OF REVIEW: Open Book was set for Saturday, May 16 from 9:00-11:00 am., and Board of Review was set for Tuesday, June 2, 6:00-8:00pm. There was a discussion on BOR classes available. Wes and LeRoy will attend a class on Thursday, April 23 from 6:30-9:30 pm at Rice Lake City Hall.
MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT FOR PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBERS: Harvey made a motion to approve mileage reimbursement the same as for the Town Board. Wes seconded the motion. Motion carried.
PUBLIC INPUT:
Tom Dettle disagreed with the Boards motion on the Lake Street issue and asked if Wes should have voted since he worked on the Westphal home.
Ed Olund suggested that the Board hire an attorney for the Lake Street issue. It was decided that Wes would look into getting an attorney.
REPORTS OF TOWN OFFICERS:
LeRoy – There will be a meeting on May 4 at 6:00 pm at the Scout Camp with the Fire Dept., ambulance, and Scout Personal and First Responders are welcome too.
Harvey Olund-Road report: A road tour was scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at 8:00 am. Meet at LeRoy Sandridge’s. Load limits will be on until May 1.
Wes Mohns- nothing
Ruth Ann-asked if she could put the equipment reserve and the gravel crushing reserve monies in a CD for this year. The Board agreed.

VOUCHERS: A motion was made and approved to pay vouchers 1917-1944.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 9:20 p.m. The next meeting will be Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 6:00 pm. A tape of these minutes will be kept on file at the Town Hall or at the Clerks Home.
