LONG LAKE TOWNSHIP BOARD
MEETING MINUTES
April 12, 2011 Town Hall
The regular monthly Town Board meeting was called to order at 7:50 pm by Chairman LeRoy Sandridge following the Annual Meeting. Newly elected Board supervisors Ed Olund and Brett Westphal were present along with Treasurer Ruth Ann Dinga, and Clerk Marcia Kampf.
MONTHLY BOARD MEETING MINUTES: A motion was made by Ed Olund and seconded by Brett to approve the minutes from March 15, 2011. Motion carried.
FINANCIAL REPORT: The Board approved Ruth Ann’s March, 2011 financial report as presented with a motion made by Ed and seconded by Brett. Motion passed.
CONDITIONAL USE APPLICATION: Mary Green presented her request. She has leased the Treats building to open a business offering home décor, coffee & ice cream. She needs a conditional use permit. Ed made a motion to approve the application, Brett seconded, and motion passed.
MUNICIPAL EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN: This will be on next month’s agenda.
TOWN HALL BOAT LANDING INPROVEMENTS: Agreement from SEH for professional services was discussed. The project is for Survey and Stormwater Improvements for the Town Hall Boat Landing. It was agreed to ask them for an electronic copy of the services for future use. The fee for their services is $3500. Ed made a motion to accept the agreement and Brett seconded it. The agreement was signed by LeRoy. Motion carried. Gene is having signs made for the boat landings about the fees and had an example for the Board. Ruth Ann had examples of envelopes to use for the fees. Ruth Ann will order the envelopes.
APPROVAL OF FIREWORKS PERMIT; Butch Rieschl presented the permit request for July 4, 2011. Brett made a motion to approve the permit. Ed seconded. Motion carried.
SET DATES FOR OPEN BOOK AND BOARD OF REVIEW: Marcia had dates from the assessor and it was agreed that open book will be Saturday May 14, 2011 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Only Marcia and the assessor are required to be present at this. Board of Review will be held Tuesday May 31, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Board supervisors and chairman and clerk are required to be present. Supervisors Ed Olund and Brett Westphal will attend a Wisline class on Board of review procedures.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: none
PUBLIC INPUT:
• Rich Alvin-said he would volunteer to sit at the Town Hall boat landing on Saturdays to ensure boat owners comply with fees and washing of boats.
• Rollie Jaastad-said trees are down on Holy Island Road-LeRoy will look at it. He also asked about lights shining out over the lake and inquired if there was an ordinance regarding lights. The Planning Commission will look into this.
• Bill Austin-asked board to look at catch basins on Holy Island Road.
REPORTS OF TOWN OFFICERS:
LeRoy- the Board needs to schedule a road tour.
Ed Olund-reported that blacktop patch is almost gone and the price is going up per Greeners in Birchwood.

Marcia-asked that Board members complete W4’s and discussed upcoming Town work shops. Board members will attend the Town Officials Workshop in Cable on Tuesday, May 24 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

VOUCHERS: A motion was made by Ed and seconded by Brett to pay vouchers 2433-2459 plus EFT transfer 888888. Motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 9:10p.m. The next regular monthly meeting will be Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 6:00 pm. A tape of these minutes will be kept on file at the Town Hall or at the Clerks Home.
