Meeting Minutes – February 4, 2010
Special Joint Meeting – Plan Commission & Town Board
Chairman Bill Austin called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Commission members: All members present
Town Board members: Present: Sandridge and Mohns Absent: Olund
Building Inspector present: Jon Mattson
Minutes of the January 7, 2010 meeting were reviewed and approve as written.
Old Business: Town chairman Sandridge talked to Thiel’s office. They agreed to proceed with legal work as previously recommended regarding the Morningside property. Leroy also presented new Town of Long Lake Comprehensive Plan books to the Plan Commission and Town Board members present.
New Business: The purpose of the special joint meeting was to discuss the permitting process problems that currently exist and to prepare recommendations to the Town Board. A mechanism for timely communications and transparency needs to be established for compliance with the town’s plan. Discussion of a flow chart and current communications problems took place. Jon Mattson stepped through the typical building permit/inspection process and explained specific areas of inspection done during the construction stages. Occupancy permits and associated challenges were also discussed.
Following discussion a list of recommendations were prepared for the town board. (See attachment to minutes).

Next scheduled meeting date – March 4, 2010
At 7:45 pm a motion was made and seconded to adjourn. Motion carried.
