Town of Long Lake Plan Commission
Meeting Minutes – 8/2/11
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bill Austin at 6:04 PM
Roll Call – All Plan Commission members were present. Brad Ray and Joe Thrasher were present to represent the LLPA.
Motion made by Le Roy Sandridge and seconded by Wes Mohns to approve the July 7, 2011 minutes as presented. Motion carried.
New Business: No one showed up to present and discuss the Sahs building variance request. Because the request does not reflect the owners plans it was agreed to deny the request until a complete request is submitted.
Mark Kohler from SEH attended the meeting and presented drawings of their proposal for “Parking & Storm Water Improvements” at the Town Hall and boat landing. They proposed enhancing & enlarging the existing catch basin, removing the metal shed, renovating & blacktopping the parking lot, some additional rip rap to the lake and a boat wash station. Their estimated construction cost, if it was all completed, totaled $65,440. Billing of the full grant amount by SEH for the amount of work done was questioned and Mark Kohler agreed to get an itemized statement for LLPA to review before payment would be made.
Old Business: The Town’s building inspector, John Mattson, was present at the meeting to help finalize the suggested verbiage changes to the town’s building ordinance # 2004-2. Bill Austin and Gene Romsos had drafted some proposed changes that were discussed, altered and approved for Planning’s recommendation to the town board. Gene Romsos was asked to write the final draft for the town board to review and approve.
Public Input: - none
Remarks by Commissioners: Bill asked if we needed a special meeting to discuss Sub-division Ordinance. It was agreed we need to review the county ordinance and alter it as we might deem needed based on our comprehensive plan. In the meantime it was suggested the town adopt the county ordinance so we have one in place.

The meeting adjourned at approximately 9:00 PM. Motion made by Sandridge, and seconded by Romsos. Motion carried.
